Lashes + Mascara
I’d like to share with you all some of my current favorite mascara’s, eyelash curlers, and false lashes. For me, eyes are the first thing I notice about someone, so I feel it is important to enhance them and make them stand out as much as possible. What better to do that than your favorite mascara.
In the picture, I show some of my favorites, (from left to right) Milani Runway Lashes, Loreal Voluminous False Fiber Lashes, Maybelline Pumped Up Colossal Express, Covergirl Flamed Up Mega Curl, Colassal Volume Express, Loreal Voluminous Million Lashes. Every mascara has a different wand, a different formula, and works differently on each person. Mascara is one of those things that you have to test and see which wand and formula works best for you. On shorter lashes, you may want to try a mascara with lengthening qualities. If you have long but sparse lashes, try a formula that is volumizing. If you have straight lashes try a dryer formula, whereas if you have more curled lashes, they might be able to handle a wetter formula. But again, you have to play with the formulas and find the perfect fit for you!
Something that I have tried, which works best for me, is to layer my mascara’s. Sometimes I will layer up to 3 coats, each coat from a different mascara. This way I get the benefits of each mascara. But the first thing I ALWAYS do before applying any mascara is curling my lashes. I cannot emphasize how important this step is. Without curling your lashes, they won’t turn out half as fluttery and beautiful as the will when you curl them.
Falsies
Just to quickly mention my favorite false lashes, they are Ardell Demi Wispies in black. These are the best falsies that I have tried thus far. They are thick and taper from the outside to the inside, so they create a natural, but enhanced look. It adds a bit more drama to the outer corner of your eye, which I always love to emphasize (when you do this, it brings the corners of the eye up, making for a more elegant and dramatic look).
I want to share with you all my holy grail mascara, one that I recently discovered called, Younique Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lashes. This mascara is incredible, it makes my lashes look full and long by adding fibers to the tips of my real lashes. The brand claims that this mascara will make it look like you are wearing false eyelashes. Of course that depends on the lashes that you have, but no matter what this mascara enhances your natural lashes.
I begin by curling my lashes, then applying one generous coat of my regular mascara. Then I grab the first step of this mascara duo (the adhesive in a mascara form), and make sure to coat all my lashes. Then I quickly grab the second step, which is the fibers, and lightly brush them all over my lashes building up volume and length. Next I grab the first step of the set again and coat my lashes again to lock in the fibers. Lastly, I grab the mascara I began with and add one last coat to form the fibers so they look natural and fluttery. Overall, this mascara makes a great difference in my lashes, I feel more confident about my eye makeup, and it definitely gives me the pick me up on my lashes that I need for the day!
