I found this small piece of wall art near Trestles beach. I immediately admired the piece because I think this is such an important thing to remember. The piece read, “Love as Long as You Live,” and it spoke to me instantly. Often times we go through life taking for granted the people that surround us. We must admire and appreciate every person that comes into our lives, because they are all here for a purpose. A person we may only talk to once in our life still has a purpose in our lives. I like to think that everything happens for a reason. So each person we come across is for a specific purpose, which we may not understand at the moment, but eventually someday it may come clear. We must love the people around us, because when we spread love, the people around us can see the light that you bring and will return the love. I think of spreading love like the concept of paying it forward. When we send love to others, then they in turn will send love to more people and eventually the love will be spread all over the world.
I took this message in two ways though, that we must love the people around us, but also love the earth we live on. We must appreciate the beauty around us and not leave a bad footprint. Now I’m not an extreme environmentalist, but I do think we should respect the wonder of the world and keep it beautiful. Recently, on my trip to Oregon, I have been able to see the beauty in the world and really appreciate it, because I was taken out of my typical environment and was able to see a new place. By spreading love, we become better people and the world becomes a better place. Love is free, so spread it to everyone and everyplace you meet. Love as long as you live.
