You, Me, Matcha.

While I was home in San Diego for spring break this last week, I had the pleasure to go to the adorable matcha cafe called Holy Matcha. I had seen a ton of posts from other San Diegans frequenting this picturesque cafe and I knew I had to go see it for myself. It is located in the heart of Northpark, one of my favorite areas in San Diego.

Other than the fact that I am a complete sucker for neon signs, the entire aesthetic of the cafe is perfection. I love the pink and green color scheme with marble accents. The mix between live plants and palm wallpaper is beautiful. The entire cafe is just a lifestyle bloggers dream. Every inch of the place is photogenic, even the bathroom…

Eats

After gawking at the adorable shop for a minute, I ordered a matcha late for my drink and a matcha donut. Both were delicious. I was so happy to hear that they offered gluten free options, like the donut and as well as a few other.

Matcha is something I am sort of new to. I order the matcha green tea latte from Starbucks, but I’m not sure if that even counts… Starbucks puts sweeteners in theirs, so it makes it taste less grassy, I guess you could say. The matcha here is authentic, I don’t know the specifics of how they make it, but you can tell. They dust their plates with matcha powder as well as the tops of their hot drinks. It adds an adorable touch to their drinks and eats.

Overall I love this cafe, it is definitely somewhere I want to visit again soon. I can’t get over the cute decor and the food and drinks were equally satisfying. I would recommend this cafe to anyone who is looking for a cute cafe with great food and drinks, all the while being surrounded by trendy people and a aesthetically pleasing space.
